Marilyn Manson Tattoos

Marilyn Manson is the satanic goth rocker, who your parents have probably warned you about. Marilyn Manson has quite a few tattoo designs on his body, most of which are in relation to the occult, horror and underworld of society.

The tattoos on his right arm include, a smiling single horned green cyclops, a large green hornet/fly looking insect with a tiny skull drawn on its wing. On the backside of his right forearm is a tattoo of a large skull and spooky haunted tree which is rooted into the top of the skull.

The tattoos on his left arm include, a large smiling red devil in the center of a horseshoe with an eight ball on top and three dice below, all of which are placed on six, surrounded with flames. Just below that tattoo is the head of a black goat (Baphomet), which is a symbol commonly associated with satanism. He also has a ghoulish face on the backside of his left forearm, a comic book character titled "Uncle Creepy", plus a cobweb on his left wrist.

And finally, Marilyn has seemingly matching tattoos on his inner forearms of the mythical creature known as Cyaegha. A green eye enclosed by a mass of tentacles. Feast your eyes on these pictures of Marilyn Manson and his tattoo designs.

1971 GAZ-24 - This One Is In The U.S.

Old Russian cars have always fascinated me. During the Cold War the only photos we saw of Russian cars were of ones that looked like 1950s American sedans. There was always some smug caption underneath the photo that alluded to the car being a new model and how Russia was 20 years behind us in technology. For many, many years most of us believed that. Propaganda is a powerful tool.

The truth is that while there were plenty of cars that were 20 years behind in technology, there were also plenty that were relatively modern and up to date. We just didn't get to see them. Imagine what we would have thought of the French automotive industry in the 1960s and 1970s if all we ever saw was the 2CV. Or the Italian industry if all we ever saw was the Fiat 500. Imagine what the world would have thought of us in the 1970s and 1980s if all they ever saw was the Chevette.

The GAZ 24 was one of those cars that was not behind the times. It was a modern sedan when it was introduced.

The GAZ 24 was developed in the mid - late 1960s. Production was started in 1970. It's styling is in line with virtually every other European sedan of the time. It's boxy and practical. The engine is an all aluminum 2.4 I4 that put out around 100 HP. The transmission is a 4 speed manual with a floor mounted shifter. It has power brakes, a heater, defroster and rear window defroster, a radio, etc., etc. It has just about everything you would find on a similar era Western European or American sedan. It was not an exciting sedan, but it was good, comfortable transportation. Like the majority of the sedans built in the 1960s and 1970s, that was all it was meant to be.

This car is located in California. It appears to be in good overall condition. It looks like the interior has been modified. The steering wheel is definitely not the original. The center armrest is an aftermarket item with a cupholder. The seats also look a bit too modern for this car, but I'm not familiar enough with the car to say if they are or are not the original seats.

The body appears to be in very good condition. However, Soviet steel was not high quality, the winters can be harsh in parts of Russia and rust prevention techniques were pretty much unknown worldwide at the time. Checking this car for badly done rust repair is a must.

Lately I've seen similar cars being offered from the old Soviet Union for insane amounts of money. While these cars are extremely rare in North America, they are not extremely valuable. This auction has a reserve, but as I write this the car has no bids, so I have no idea what that reserve might be.

If this car is as good in person as it looks in the pictures and if the seller isn't looking for a stupid amount of money for it, this would be a really great car to bring to car shows.

Playing with watercolor
Honestly i had been itching to play with watercolor ever since i sold one of my originals- talk about inspiration and encouragement!

In other news- we must now backtrack to Thursday the 26th which was the Last Thursday Artwalk on Alberta st for August:
Last Thursday Artwalk on Alberta st August '10
This was our booth set up. As always we were selling original art, silkscreen prints, tie dye and more.

I painted my face up in hopes to entice some souls to have their own faces/bodies painted by me for a few bucks:

...and so it did attract quite a few moms and their kids to have their faces painted:

and all was well and super fun until the unthinkable happened....Wells Fargo set up a table to "sign up accounts" right next to us!!! I was truly outraged by this and confronted them about it. I pretty much said that i was very uncomfortable with their presence at what is supposed to be a community based independent artwork festival. I hope i made my disgust known enough for them to think twice about setting up again. This may be a sign that its the beginning of the end for the Alberta arts festivals but i am determined to not be too disheartened. We will see how it goes for September's last Thursday art walk.

...Oh and for those who are wondering why my dreads are suddenly red- i colored it with Henna( all natural plant based hair coloring!)
The process was pretty messy and looked something like this:
Henna Bath
but i had fun making the mess as always and the henna was so soothing and healing for my scalp.
The color change was pretty dramatic as you can see- but i love it! Change is good.

Danny has been super busy finsing these huge screens for a Buddha silkscreen/marbling project he has in the works:
buddha screens
As you can see- he is all done with the three screens needed to make up his 3 color Buddha print. Instead of using the photo emulsion method of creating these silkscreens he hand painted them with drawing fluid. The next step is getting all his supplies ready to begin marbling big sheets of paper that he will then print the buddha onto. i cant wait to see the outcome but we have to wait awhile and let the $$ come in so that he can purchase all the supplies.

us
a quick snap of Danny and I over the weekend. We spent a good amount of time hanging out on the patio, conversing and drinkin tea.
I hope every one's weekend went well.

more updates coming soon.

Best wishes,
-Chelsea Rose
