1966 Fiat 1100R - A Winter Project?

I always liked the boxy look of the later Fiat 1100 series. In my opinion, the 1100R is the best of the bunch.

The last 1100 series built by Fiat, the "R", was sold from 1966 through 1969, when it was phased out in favor of the 128.

The R looked significantly different from the 1100D it replaced. Fiat stylists gave it a boxier look, removed most of what was left of the original tail fins, updated the grille and the tail lights. It looked as modern as a car that was originally introduced in 1953 could look.

Based on the 4 Craigslist pictures, this looks like it could be a good winter project. It appears to be complete The seller says it's not running. The only concern would be the seller's description of the body. He writes, "Body has some rust, but not too bad." Everybody's idea of "not too bad" is different and, with this being a unibody car, it's important to check the structural areas. Mechanical parts are not tough to get as the 1100R shares many with other Fiats. The tough to find trim pieces all seem to be there.
