I discovered yesterday that I instinctively do a double take when people say things that are stupid enough. Behold, a snippet of conversation that made my head jerk in disbelief, betraying the fact that I was eavesdropping (well they were loud!):
"I'm not worried about the fat. I'm more worried about the carbs. Because fat doesn't give you muscles, carbs give you muscles."
I think the lady who uttered it was too busy worrying about carbs to notice my visible wince. Or maybe she was just dim in general.
